Native alder — honest, organic character

Alder is our on-site, sustainably sourced native wood. Unlike brilliant white birch, alder carries moss and lichen that photograph beautifully and lend authentic forest texture. Each arch is hand-built using traditional mortise & tenon joinery for strength, longevity and a natural aesthetic.

Chuppahs — ceremonial frames

Easy assembly chuppah / alder chuppah example

Classic ceremonial chuppahs built with mortise & tenon connections for a fully natural, glue-free assembly. Standard chuppah dimensions are 7–8' high by 6–8' wide; fully customizable to suit ceremony needs.

Service: rental and purchase, floral install available, delivery and full installation.

  • Hand-built for a unique, artisan finish
  • Moss retained or lightly cleaned per request
  • Optional canopy, drape or floral wiring and anchors

Pergolas — large ceremony & installation structures

What we provide

  • Handcrafted alder frames — chuppahs, pergolas and specialty arches.
  • Mortise & tenon joinery — all-natural connections for strength and repairability.
  • Rental and purchase options, with professional installation and teardown.
  • Custom sizing, finishes (bark-on or brushed) and moss level choices.
  • Floral installation available; we coordinate refrigeration & staging for attached florals.

Lead times & installation

Typical lead time for custom builds: 4–8 weeks. For peak weekend rentals, reserve 3–6 months in advance. We offer regional delivery (Oregon Coast, Portland metro and surrounding areas) and full installation — pricing includes site survey when required.

Site & safety notes

  • We recommend a level surface and 4 anchor points for pergolas; decking or paver sites require different anchors.
  • Our crew provides rigging for heavy floral installs and verifies load limits on site.
  • For multi-day events we provide storage and reconditioning of the arch if needed.

Frequently asked questions

Is alder a good substitute for birch?

Yes. Alder offers a sustainable native option with organic moss and lichen texture that many designers prefer. It offers a different, more natural look than brilliant white birch.

Do you offer rentals and purchases?

We offer both. Rentals include delivery, install and teardown; purchases are custom builds. Floral installation is available as an add-on.

How far in advance should I reserve?

For custom builds and peak weekend rentals, reserve 3–6 months in advance. Typical build lead time is 4–8 weeks; expedited options may be available for an extra fee.

How are arches finished?

We offer bark-on (moss/lichen retained), lightly brushed (cleaned), or a clear, water-based seal. Moss/lichen can be left in place for the “wild” look or cleaned up depending on design preference.
