Cherry Branches — Wholesale
Cherry branches are our single most profitable branch product for customers — high-margin, beautiful, and versatile. We supply early-season single white and double pink (end of January), transition to two varieties of double white by March 1, and continue to supply cherries in bloom through June or July. Natural bloom (April–May) typically delivers the best quality and vase performance.
Why customers value cherry branches
Cherry branches sell at attractive margins because they are show-stopping, adaptable to events and retail, and command premium pricing when timed for major spring events. Early-season sales around late January and February are particularly lucrative (single white & double pink for CNY and February events), while April–May natural bloom produces the highest quality with strong demand.

Availability & varieties
Cherry bloom window: end of January → June/July. Key timing and varieties:
- End of January: early-season single white blossoms and double pink (great for CNY and early events).
- March 1 onward: we begin offering two varieties of double white (expanded double-white assortment for spring weddings and events).
- Peak natural bloom: April–May — best quality and vase performance.
- Extended season: blooms can continue into June/July depending on weather and cultivar.
Staging & conditioning
Cherry requires careful staging to balance bud/opening and transit safety. Typical warm-room finishing times (65–75°F):
| Ship stage | Warm-room days to open | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Plump bud / just showing color | 5–10 days | Common for cherries; plan for gradual warm-up. |
| Closer to open (delicate) | 3–6 days | Higher risk in transit — only used for short shipments/local orders. |
Receiving checklist: Unpack upright → recut stems 1–2" under water → hydrate with preservative → space stems generously to avoid head abrasion → choose warm-room finishing or cool-hold based on event date.
Packing & shipping
Because cherry heads are delicate, we pack multiple bundles into large plastic shipping bags and wrap moist paper at the bag ends to retain humidity and protect blossoms. Bags ship directly (not boxed) and are palletized or consolidated for freight. Cube is used for freight quoting.
- Fragility: blossoms can bruise; we stage and pack to minimize movement and abrasion inside bags.
- Carrier guidance: FedEx daily, Air Cargo (Tues & Fri), Trucking (Fridays). For time-sensitive blooms, prefer fastest available freight.
- Temperature: avoid freezing; for hot weather use insulated liners or expedite shipping.
Grooming & troubleshooting
A short groom (1–3 minutes per affected bunch) removing damaged buds or trimming broken stems is a normal part of professional receiving. Grooming helps preserve the remaining stems and avoids credits.
- Bud bruise/blackening: from physical damage or cold — remove damaged buds, salvage remainder.
- Uneven opening: caused by temperature swings — warm gently and check daily.
- Cloudy water: indicates bacterial growth — change water, sanitize buckets, recut stems.
